Love this place, great ambiance, excellent food and good drinks. Who doesn't love a place that gives you free wine when you first walk in before checking in with the hostess? Um #Winning A must try, be sure to sit outside in the patio if it's nice outside.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place and considered giving it a 4th star, but when the description for that is "Yay! I'm a fan." and I don't see myself returning, I just can't. My husband and I went to Cooper's on a Tuesday evening, and judging from the crowd, they won't be hurting from a so-so review from me. The atmosphere is clean, crisp, and contemporary - a very nice, upscale ambience but you'll still find folks in nice casual attire, as we were (post-dinner Muny tickets necessitate comfort more than getting fancied up for dinner). The service is really fantastic. Our server was very friendly and informative. She happily got us tastings of 5 of their wines so we could settle on a bottle, but that's where the disappointment started to set in. Their wine is really not very good...especially for a restaurant designed around their in house wine. Of the 5 dry reds we tried, they all were far too young and bright - some with even a sour after taste. The food was really fantastic - I recommend the caesar salad (with plentiful parmesan) and trio of filet medallions, and they gave us a beautiful little dessert platter for our anniversary for which I'm thankful. I just know for the same price point, same fantastic service, but better wine, I'm much more likely to head down the road to Edgewild.

We have dined here countless times, just the two of us, or with a group of friends and we always, always had good experience. The food is always tasty, the service is attentive yet very unobtrusive and the only reason I am not giving them five stars is because their pretzel bread is not that good... Just kidding... It is a bit noisy, but in the restaurant this size it should be expected. If you are going there tonight you are making the right choice... Enjoy...

This is a wine bar, and I opted to try the sangria. It was not too fruity, not too dry, and not too sweet; all things that could easily ruin sangria. It was slightly carbonated (I'm guessing with club soda) but totally refreshing. I would say it was the perfect balance and it would've tasted even better outside on the patio on a warm summer evening. As for the food, I had the pretzel horseradish encrusted pork chop. It's a winner. The Porkchop was definitely on point. It's very easy to over cook a pork chop, even in a restaurant, but this chop was as tender as a tenderloin, and full of flavor. Delicious pork juices flowed out of every bite, and I really enjoyed the flavor of the crust. I would order it again in a heartbeat, but next time I would sub out the mixed vegetables for broccoli as I felt the mixed vegetables (carrots and other root veggies) were a little lacking and didn't add any color to my plate. A few of my coworkers ordered the Ahi tuna, and it looked amazing. Other side notes about the food: the bread for the table was a pretzel roll that was on point, and the Caesar salad had a very flavorful dressing that could go toe to toe with any Caesar dressing out there. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars was the fact that it was very similar to any other nice corporate restaurant (like a Cheesecake Factory) and i didn't feel it had much charm. After all, it is in a shopping center next to Whole Foods and Target. However, it was reasonably priced at $20-32 per entree. Although a bit noisy, it would be a great place for a date because of the wine and the value per person.

My new favorite restaurant. You will not be disappointed! Atmosphere phenomenal, food delicious and of course the wine. Some of the staff could use some additional customer service training, but nothing extreme. You have some that are phenomenal and some no so. I believe they become slightly overwhelmed when it's busy. Outside of that, this place is great!

We walked in on Labor Day and no one would seat us. We stood there and waited, then walked around and finally walked up to a girl asking to see a menu. She handed us a menu but said absolutely nothing. The place was not busy and we were dressed nice. Not sure what that was about but we decided to walk out. Not impressed and we have zero desire to try it again.

I really love this place. While I am a beer drinker, they have a great selection of wines and an above average collection of beers. The folks who run this place really know how to run a restaurant. The service is outstanding from the hostess to the server. They are all warm and friendly and great at providing outstanding service. The ambiance is nice with upscale and comfortable furnishings. The cadence or timing of the meal is good. You aren't rushed in any way. The food is extremely flavorful and served hot and the portions are generous. The menu has a great variety. It is an above average price point, but you feel good about it because you are getting your moneys worth.

They had me at winery! We made a reservation to try Cooper's Hawk for our Valentine's celebration this year. However instead of doing it on the actual day, we did it the Friday night before which was a great idea! Its centrally located in Town & Country, right off 141. When you walk in, you are in their store where you can purchase wine tastings, accessories and plenty of different wines. We were quickly seated and our server was extremely friendly. They will allow you tastes of the wine before you purchase a glass or bottle - we opted to try the moscato and the blueberry before settling on a bottle of blueberry. We almost never order appetizers but decided we wanted to try everything so we settled on the Over-the-Border egg rolls. I'm not a huge eggroll fan but these were crispy and filled to the brim and came with 2 different dipping sauces and a side of slaw. Yum! For our main meals, I decided to try their fish & chips while my husband opted for their Jambalaya. Mine was just as crispy as I expected it and plentiful. My husband really enjoyed his dish, and it was just the right amount of spicy for him. Because we did an appetizer that filled us up, we opted to pass on dessert but made a mental note to return for wine and dessert another time. One key thing that also stood out is that the waiter asked us how we had heard of the establishment, to which we promptly told him that it had been recommended to us by several friends. He then informed us that they do not advertise, all their business has been from word of mouth. Kudos to you then, CH, because your establishment is doing quite well and I cannot wait to return.

Everything about this place is awesome except the hosts. I've been to Cooper's Hawk maybe 8 or 9 times and I really love this place. I love it so much that I joined the wine club! The servers at the wine bar are knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes are busier than others. Don't expect to get a full explanation for each tasting on a Friday or Saturday night. If they have time, they will walk you through each tasting. You can try one of two for free or do a $7 tasting of 8 wines. They have different lists but you can interchange as many as you want. I am a fan of the wine or I wouldn't be a wine club member. I'm a red wine drinker and I love the Cabernet Zinfandel. I've also discovered that I like the Unoaked Chardonnay! I typically dislike Chardonnay so that was a big surprise! I tend to enjoy the blends more. The Blanc de Blanc is perfect for a celebration or a glass with (or for!) dessert! The servers are super attentive and quick to help with anything. They are all very personable and have made my experiences better. We had a wine spill and the server was nice enough to bring over a replacement glass of wine along with some club soda for the stain! How nice is that!! The food is very good. I absolutely love the butternut squash gnocchi, the braised short ribs, and the short rib risotto. The gluten free menu is HUGE! My husband loves coming here! They have pretzel rolls for the table but they also bring out a gluten free roll. He loves it when restaurants think of that little detail. The lost star is for the rude hosts. No idea what their deal is but every single time...rude. Love this place!!

Dinner was fabulous! The pre-nosh pretzel bread was fantastic as was my Ceasar salad. The lemon drop was pretty delicious as well.

I have now been here several times and have enjoyed all of the dishes I have ordered. My favorite entrees have to be the gnocchi with butternut squash and the chicken giardiniera. I really want to try the short rib risotto, but it seems gnocchi always comes out of my mouth when it comes time to order. Cooper's hawk is a great place to come for wine and sharing many of their fabulous appetizers, bruschetta, and flatbreads. I regularly enjoy the chicken potstickers and have many more to try. I also can't forget about the pillowy pretzel bread that comes served warm to the table.

The primary complaint with this experience was the extremely slow service. It was a Saturday late afternoon and they were busy but, that is normal for this place. Some of it may have been an inattentive server however she can't provide what the kitchen is not making available. The other really disappointing part of the our visit was the patio. It is a very nice space, although the number of flies continuously landing on the food and in your face was ridiculous. Not to be topped by the lights that they turn on at dusk are spots lights and glared right into our eyes. My suggestion to enjoy this option would be to pass on the weekends and definitely stay inside, the food was good and as many posts have pointed out the pretzel bread is worth the trip.

My college chum and I went for lunch. We had a reservation. It was kind of embarrassing that we had a reservation, because we were the ONLY people in the house for at least 30 minutes before other lunch diners began arriving. The front is pretty fun, with all sorts of wine accessories -- many quite cute, many quite utilitarian. Totes and baskets, too, to take your wine out for an occasion. Also, many marmalades, jellies, pickled vegetables, giardiniera, butters, tapenades, sauces and preserves. The dining room is beautifully appointed, rather sparse, but attractively so with wood and wine everywhere. Gregg, our server, gave us the wine club speech and offered tastes of wines. We declined the offer, but needed time to get through the massive menu. She got the Napa Chicken Salad ($13.99) -- Apples, goat cheese, dried cherries, corn, avocado, toasted almonds, cilantro, tomatoes and chicken with a honey mustard vinaigrette. I got the Cooper's Hawk Cobb ($12.99) -- Tomatoes, avocado, tubetti pasta, chicken, bacon, bleu cheese and scallions with an Italian vinaigrette. My failure was in properly reading the salad description and was surprised to find pasta in my salad. As soon as I saw it, I started taking out all the pieces and putting them on my bread plate. Gregg came by to ask how the food was, and I told him I hadn't eaten any, because I was taking out all the pasta. He didn't say anything. By the time I was finished removing the pasta, my college chum was finished with her salad. Not really finished. She was done eating it. It was big. Mine was big, too. I took a few bites and really, for the richness of those ingredients, a few bites was good for lunch. When we asked for to-go vessels, Gregg suggested to me I could have ordered the salad without the pasta. Well, it was my fault. We both had a major to-go vessel. It was incredibly considerate that our recyclable to-go vessels were labeled with the date and the contents of the vessel -- with a nice note something to the effect that it's nice that you liked our food so much that you wanted to take some home. My now-pasta-free salad was good for another two meals. I'm not averse to eating salad for breakfast.

We started coming here with friends who loved the place. It has a nice atmosphere and now my wife and I come at least once a month to eat. We have tried many of the dishes and all have been wonderful. I like the jambalaya and prime rib sandwich and my wife loves the gnocchi. Make sure you arrive a little early to sample the wine. We are not wine connoisseurs but we enjoy the wine and have even become wine club members. The wine is nice to have on hand to give as gifts and for parties at the house.

Cooper's Hawk Winery locates in the Target plaza. It is my favorite Target in town. There were lots of people in this restaurant on Wednesday lunch. After ordered the luch, we had free bread before the meal. The pretzel bread was really good. I ordered Cooper's Hawk white wine $6.5. Semi-sweet. I like it. It tested even better 10 minutes latter. Crab and Lobster Bisque $6.99. Very good. Lots of crab and lobster in the soup. Love it. Cooper's Hawk chicken giardiniera $12.99. Caper went well with garlic. A little bit too hot for me, but I like it. I also like the crusted chicken very much. The mashed potato was one of the best in my memory. Dana's Parmesan crusted chicken $12.99. Very delicious. It was my friend's order. I'll it next time. Anne's chicken saltimbocca $13.99. My friend likes the tender chicken. She was totally satisfied with her meal. Ellie's chicken piccata $12.99. It is really good. My friend especially liked the caper in the dish. All we tried was lunch-sized entrees, available daily 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. It is a perfect size for me. Next time I'll go with my husband, then I'll save some room for their beautiful dessert.

We had our first visit tonight. It is a beautiful place. It wasn't too busy (it was a weeknight). While it felt upscale, it was also very casual, with people of all kinds of dress. Now onto the wine and food. Everything on the menu from appetizers to desserts are coded to a wine that pairs nicely with it. For the non-connoisseur, it's wonderful. On top of that big help, the wait staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They never made me feel dumb for not knowing about wine and they helped me figure out what I might like. You can taste wines (3 maybe?) before ordering a while glass, as well. All-in-all it was a wonderful wining and dining experience.

We have brought multiple guess here. They have always been impressed with the service, food and friendliness of the staff. They, in turn, have brought guess of their own. We have been going through the menu, (trying something new each time), we haven't found anything we didn't really like. I joined the wine club and have enjoyed it immensely. Kudos to Angel at the wine tasting bar, she made the evenings enjoyable.

We've been here twice and I have mix feelings about this place. Overall it's a fun experience. The wine is decent. A few really good. Nothing spectacular. The wine club has good perks. The food is pretty good. But the tables are very crowded and it LOUD. So loud that a little boy at the next table had his fingers in his ears. And the tables are very close together. Don't go if you want a romantic or intimate dinner. Next time we are going to try lunch.

NEWSFLASH: I LOVE wineries. I have spent some time in Napa Valley and have Italy, France, Spain & Washington State on my short list of vacation spots for one reason: Wineries!! Living in St. Louis we have a paucity of nice wineries with California wines. That is why I was SO thrilled when I happened upon Coopers Hawk Winery last year in my own back yard. This establishment is absolutely gorgeous!! You won't find a more beautiful restaurant & winery in West County. Upon walking into the tasting room you know you are going to have a fun time. They have an exquisite bar where the tastings are done and the merchandise set up in the gift shop will draw you in. Then you will see the case full of chocolate truffles and it will all be over. You will be hooked. Coopers Hawk Winery buys its grapes and juice from California and make their wine in the Chicago area where they are based. The wines I have tasted here are not the BEST I have tasted, but most of them are decent and they have SOME that I really love. Coopers Hawk really shines with their whites and fruit wines with their Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Peach fruit wine and Sparkling Moscato topping my list of favorites. Last year they even did a holiday mulled/spicy wine in both a red & white that I purchased, took to a holiday gathering, and served heated. They were both great. As Coopers Hawk is also a Restaurant i would be remiss not to talk about this part of the equation. The food I have had has ranged from pretty good to phenomenal depending on what I have ordered. The food is very modern with a variety of ethnicities represented. There are many options that pair well with wines such as Ahi Tuna Tacos, Chicken Chorizo Flatbread, Filet Mignon or Gnocchi Carbonaro. The restaurant service has always been really good as well. In the restaurant and bar you can also order wine flights which I absolutely LOVE. This gives you an opportunity to try more than one wine in a classification such as sparkling, white, red or fruit wines. You may be wondering why, If I am so high on this place, wouldn't I have given them 5 stars!?? They have a bit of a staffing issue in their tasting room... While the bartender we had was phenomenal, she was overworked and could have used a few other people to help out. That aside, I HIGHLY recommend this place for lunch, dinner, a tasting, or an evening in their bar.

Top notch - well priced for what you get! One of our family favs as well as great adults night out. Our family also orders take out a LOT because there sandwiches are Amazing. I had to wait one time for them to redo a takeout order and was given a FRE bottle of wine (my choice) for the wait even though I didn't even complain since I wasn't in a rush- excellent customer service, wine and food. A west county must try!

While the food was good and service ok, the atmosphere is very noisy and hard to have a discussion. Also our waiter Dd additional tip money to our CC after we left. It took me six weeks and four phone calls to get my money back. The manger said me would send me a gift certificate for my troubles but never did. I have no troubles now as I won't be returning. I was asked by a manager to give them my contact info as they wanted to call me to discuss my review. I did this and weeks later no contact. Very poor leadership at this chain.

This is by far one of our favorite places for any occasion. Perfect for a lunch, date night, or group dinner. I'm typically not a fan of chains, but I make an exception for CH. On our last visit, we joined the two-bottle variety wine club. The two-bottle club comes with two bottles per month plus two free tastings per month. The bottles accrue on your membership card. The wine speaks for itself and each month their tasting menu changes. As for the food, nothing has let us down. My go-to is the short-rib risotto and is consistently excellent. My husband has had the mustard/pretzel crusted pork chop and potatoes which was also delicious. If you're looking for an appetizer, I suggest the calamari (they are HUGE) or the grilled veggie and goat cheese flat bread. If I'm not very hungry, I'll order the cheese plate to snack on with my wine. On busy nights, the restaurant does get fairly noisy so don't expect to have a quiet dinner. Service has been decent every time we've visited--nothing extremely good or extremely bad. The place gets VERY busy on weekends and even some weeknights so you'll want to have a reservation. Get there early to sample at the wine bar in the lobby, but remember to bring cash as this part is cash-only. They have a really neat gift shop with items for wine-enthusiasts. Some is over-priced but what you'd expect at a restaurant gift shop. Overall, we truly enjoy CH every time we go and love introducing friends and family to it!

I love this place and absolutely love the food! The wine is exceptionally good! The service isn't that great... Our wine tasting session could have been more fun if the one serving us was more friendly and warm... The dining area service is better...

I'm a little torn cause last time we went everything was great, but that was about a year ago... Has it really changed that much in a year? My potatoes were so raw I could barely cut them putting my weight into it. I got salmon and it was by far the worst salmon I have had in my life! It was so incredibly fishy tasting I had to sip water in between each bite in order to get it down. I would've sent it back but that is just something I never do. And final note... For it being a "winery" this is really some sub-par wine. Fortunately it is reasonably priced for subpar wine so it's kind of a wash....

Went to this place yesterday for dinner with the family. It was very noisy way to table out in the middle the room. Some of the food was absolutely wonderful and some of it is just mediocre After dinner we had some fun time at the bar to seem different wines. Although I'm not a wine drinker or there after dinner winds made out of different fruits are really sweet and fun their gifts are nice too The service was average that's why I rated this place a three. If the service has been better it would've been a four

Came here for our 4 year anniversary and loved it. This place was awesome. Amazing food, great wine! Service was great. We stopped at the bar for a glass of Champaign before we left and it was on the house when the bartender found out why we were there. Sweet!

I absolutely love fried calamari. This dish was made to perfection. The spicy and crispy calamari melted in your mouth. I also had Ginger Samon and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection, not dry and not to too raw. Overall, a great dinning experience. Definitely will come back again.

Wine tasting was a great experience. Dining....welllllll, not so much. For a place wanting guests to believe they're getting upscale service & food, it seemed more like they're pretending. My blackened ahi tuna was subpar at best. My wife's fillet mignon was ordered medium rare, but served medium well and had little taste. Server named Chris F should seek a career outside of customer service. Yikes. Yes, that bad. My advice......Do the wine tasting for sure, if for no other reason than to network and make friends. I'd skip dining though. I know we will from now on.

WOW. My first time at this place was pretty darn amazing. My grandma and I were looking for a place to eat so I was trying my best to find an awesome place for her (since all she ever eats is Asian food, I wanted her "American" experience to be out of this world). Not to mention my grandma is extremely picky. Found this place and the reviews were mixed but my mom told me she had a fantastic meal here once, so we decided to try it for lunch. It's definitely a dressier place but you can dress down as well. The host was welcoming and our server was really friendly and made some great suggestions since it was our first time. We opted for a pasta dish, the angel hair neapolitano which was DIVINE. It was tomato based, swimming in that blend of sweet and acidic tomato, garlic and herbs broth with broccoli and shrimp. Oh and the pretzel bread they give you in the beginning that all the reviewers raved about?? Perfect on a cold day--pretzel crust on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside--it completely turned me into a carb monster. We had two servings of that--one that we inhaled right away and another to soak up that delicious tomato sauce with. The other dish was their lunch sized chicken madeira, which had a sweet brown sauce, almost like a sweet soy based sauce. The chicken was absolutely delicious, especially with the provolone cheese melted on top. The cooked mushrooms added a nice contrast to the crunch of the asparagus, and the final touch was the perfectly balanced garlic mashed potatoes--all of these tasted even better dipped in that brown sauce by the way. Later on I got nosey and started peeking at everyone else's dish and they all looked equally delicious--the salads were huge! I can't wait to go back and try some of their appetizers with a nice glass of red. P.S. They also sell some fancy looking specialty chocolates up at the front that looked heavenly!

My fiancé and I visited Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant on Saturday, May 16 and had a very enjoyable afternoon date. We opted to do the Lux tasting, which was $12 for each of us and included a chocolate. Brittani was our server/bartender, and she was absolutely wonderful. It wasn't relatively crowded, so we had her undivided attention. She walked us through each wine, and even swapped a few of the sweeter wine's out for my fiancé, who enjoys his wine on the dry side. We selected to join the wine club. For $35 a month, we will be able to enjoy two bottles of wine and a free tasting for each of us. We are newish wine drinkers, so this is great for us. We look forward to trying the restaurant during future visits! Special Note: We did not realize at the time we signed up for the wine club that we would not receive a bill during our tasting. Neither one of us had cash on hand. Because of this, we were not able to tip Brittani accordingly or properly. We will certainly make up for this at our next visit!

Highly recommend!!! Everything I have tried on the menu is unbelievably good!!! They start you off with warm pretzel bread and their happy hour wine and drink specials are not to be missed! The have great wine flights and I definitely recommend joining the wine club so you get your pick of their delicious wines each month! Easily one of my favorite restaurants!!

Following my last review, Coopers Hawk management invited us back to have a complimentary dinner with them. We were happy to and hoped for best case scenario. I am happy to report that we had a much better experience. Our waiter, Aaron L, was really attentive and I only have good things to say about the service. Our food was prompt, delicious, and much more consistent with prior easing experiences. I appreciate management reaching out to us and will be returning in the future

I must agree with other reviewers that the service is subpar, but the food is great! Parking is crowded on the weekends, so get there early. No reservation? The wait can be 90 plus minutes. There's a bar upon entry which helps; however, the bartenders are not as familiar with the wine served as they should be. This is probably the reason that they do not offer or tell you the best wines or wine flavors to try. I enjoyed the crab cakes!

Not great. Poor wine knowledge in tasting room. Weak wine. They have a gluten free menu but NOT truly gluten free. If you have celiac disease, please avoid this restaurant. Service underwhelming, uneducated, and seemingly unconcerned with celiac disease.

What a great place to go for dinner. There were 8 of us and everything was great. Starting with Andrea, our waitress to the food and the wine, ending with dessert. Don't pass up the desserts!!! Andrea made the evening so much better. She put up with 8 guys and their mouths. That is enough for anyone to deal with. The food was fantastic!!! The wine was very good. All-in-all a great experience!!!

I was glad to hear that Cooper's Hawk opened up a location in St. Louis. Our Chicagoland friends always talk about this place. We came here with another couple, and made reservations rather early.. 5:15 PM. When we got there it was pretty empty, but come about 5:45-6:00 PM it was completely full. Our waittress greeted us prompty, and offered a variety of wine samplings, and was very patient when we were a bit indecisive. We opted to go with a bottle of the Cooper's Hawk Red Blend (4.5/5). We really enjoyed it, and it was one of the more economical bottles on the menu which was a plus. It was also served with a very cool upside down decanter. It took up a bit of space on the table, but it was very cool, and I prefer my red wine decanted. Sarah and I got the Mexican Drunken Shrimp for our appetizer (5/5). They were nice sized shrimp, and cooked perfectly. I really loved the Tequila Lime Butter sauce that came with them also. Our friends decided to order the Cooper's Hawk Sampler as their main entree, since they typically don't eat a ton. They thought the potstickers, Calamari, and Crab Cakes were great, but didn't much care for the egg rolls. I got the Churrasco Grilled Steak (4/5). I loved the Chimichurri rub on the steak, and the cilantro lime aioli was awesome. The skirt steak itself was pretty standard, but it was cooked very well. I also really liked the Parmesan fries. Sarah got the Anne's Chicken Saltimbocca. (4/5) She really thought it had a good flavor, and she loves just about any pasta with a lemon sauce. She was really made at me for accidently leaving the leftovers on the front counter when I was picking up a bottle of wine. Whoops! Now to my favorite part of most any meal... the dessert. Our friends got us each a Chocolate Covered Strawberry (5/5). They were perfect, and decorated like little tuxedos. Very nice touch, and very delicious. We both got a slice of the Cooper's Hawk Chocolate Cake (5/5). It was one of the best chocolate cakes I have had anywhere. It was moist, rich, and huge. It came with some vanilla bean ice cream also, which was a very nice addition. Normally I don't do ice cream with my cake, but this worked great. All in all, this was a good place to have a nice dinner. It was pretty expensive however, so I don't think it will be a regular place, but that saved for the times I have a bit of extra cash and want a nice dinner out.

Great food and fine. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Was going to a location near Chicago for years. Loved the place. Went for the first time to the St. Louis location. Just as good. It was a bit noisy though. A bit hard maintaining a conversation.

The hubby and I decided to try this place out since it's not far from home, and we wanted to try something new. Since it was Saturday and we were planning things at the last minute, I was worried about not getting a table (esp after hearing a friend's experience of calling ahead and only to arrive and discover there was no availability). I noticed they had an open reservation on OpenTable, so I went ahead and made the reservation. We decided to try our luck and see if we could get in 20-30 min earlier, and we were seated after only waiting about 5 minutes. Our waiter was very attentive and told us about the winery and the different wine options (free samples before you decide what to order!). Food: 1) Asian Pork Belly Tostadas - excellent! A little difficult to eat, but they were delicious. The order came with 5, and I could easily have this as my entree next time. 2) House salad - nothing special. 3) Crab & Lobster bisque - good flavor, but I was surprised to receive a "chunky" soup. There wasn't really much crab or lobster, but there was plenty of vegetables (maybe to hide the lack of meat?). Not really my favorite. 4) Crab cake appetizer (as entree) - this came with 3 crab cakes and a giant pile of slaw. I was surprised at the size of the appetizer (I wonder what the entree looks like!). I was sad to see the crab cakes sitting on mustard (I didn't think to ask for no mustard bc I don't like mustard), but I ate around it. Crab cakes were ehh...lots of filler. To be fair, I grew up eating crab cakes on the East Coast where they fill them up with JUST crab meat! The slaw wasn't bad, esp for someone who dislikes slaw. 5) Short ribs - the hubby said it was pretty good but not a good choice for summer. He said he would def order it again in the colder months. For all the food + wine we had, prices were reasonable and we will keep this on our "local" list.

2stars only for the ambiance. Food was sub par. I had the grouper and the ONLY. Flavor came from the few capers. Seriously. Frozen dinner would have beat this $20 dish. BF had a breaded chicken dish because the spiedini was sold out. He said no flavor in his dish either. Wondered why the heck all these patrons were coming for tasteless, pricey entrees.

Beautiful decor, with a lovely wine tasting for just 8 dollars. On the gluten free menu, which has a lot of options, i had some incredible thai lettuce wraps. the wine aerators they use are totally fun and unique.

Cooper's Hawk Winery is an awesome new addition to the Town and Country area. It's in a very nice area right next to The Whole Foods. Don't let the strip mall location fool you because the interior is very classy. The front part is set up like a store with plenty of wine and accessories to purchase. There are two separate areas to eat at. One that, I think, is reservation only and another that is designated for walk-ups. The reservation only area is a little nicer but not a huge difference. The service here was amazing from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The wait staff is super friendly and really go the extra mile. The food was great, too. Don't do what I did and just get a burger (What? I was craving one) because that's not why you go here. They have a very diverse (in price, too) menu and tons of great options. My burger was fine, nothing special. But I had a bite of my girlfriend's veggie sandwich and it was AMAZING. I normally stay away from stuff without meat but this thing was very very good. One of my favorite features of CH is that they keep a barrel of blended red wine in store that you can order a glass from. It's constantly changing flavor as it ages and more wine is added so it tastes different over time. It was very good and extremely smooth. I've never had wine straight from the barrel! It was really cool. You should check out Cooper's Hawk if you are looking for fine dining or a casual meal. It's great for both.

The food was fantastic and the wine delicious. Don't go if you are too indecisive because there are a ton of choices from steaks, chicken, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and more. Even their dessert menu had tons of choices. I had the skirt steak with a spicy Mexican rub that had a lime aioli sauce on the side that was perfect to balance the spicy. My wife had a tasty gnocchi dish that she loved as well. We also had the cheese plate with five different selections of cheese. We declined the wine pairings and kept with the Riesling which was wonderful. The whole place was bigger than it looked. It has a wine room when you first come in for tastings (hence the word winery in the name) and behind that was the huge open Resturant. The noise level was a little high for a romantic dinner, but the food and wine are worth it. Being crowed just attests to the quality of everything.

We went there last Saturday for a 30th Birthday dinner. We did not make reservations until the day before, so we were aware we would probably have to wait. While the wait was a little longer than we expected, we were fine with just grabbing a glass of wine while waiting. Once seated, we had great service. Dylan was our server and was very attentive, helpful, and a great server. Everyone loved their meals, and it all came out very promptly. I myself got the crab cakes- highly recommend! I definitely will be back and recommend this to others!

Great inside seating decor. Nice patio outside. Don't expect to see the water from the patio. The wall is too high. Really nice wine selection. I had the pork medallions for dinner with mashed potatoes and aspharagus. Wow! Really good! Get the Mexican Shrimp for an appetizer. Très magnifique! The red wine blend from the barrels is excellent. Nice wine tasting area and shop.

This has fast become our favorite restaurant along with most of our friends and family that we have brought to enjoy the gem we found. Drunken Shrimp and Flat Breads are my favorite appetizer although sure the rest are great, just love these two so much never order anything else. Shrimp and lobster bisque is not the completely smooth kind many are use to, but it is absolutely delicious. The steaks and fish are what we order and they are always delicious. The August Special bone in fillet was amazing, wish it could be a regular menu item. They are always willing to give us a free wine tasting before we order dinner wine and make great suggestions. I have joined the wine club and because we frequent the restaurant often, it seems to pay for itself. The wine club gives us point credits that add up to discount coupons and also just special surprise coupons show up. Seems I always have one available to use. We are certainly not wine experts, but we now have expanded our appreciation for different wines, the Malbec being our favorite. We love their wine, as we took a trip to Herman area last weekend and just didn't think the wine tastings compared. Sorry, not trying to make anyone mad, just being honest but as I said we are not wine experts. Lastly, took my son and daughter there last Friday for their anniversary and she said it was the best meal she had ever had and our server brought our little granddaughter a little bowl of fruit with our drinks, which is just the little specials that help make this our favorite restaurant.

The short rib risotto was downright amazing. I would have licked the plate had my wife not been watching. Service was great, the patio is fun, and the menu continues to have items that make me come back to try. I fail to see the value in the wine club, by that's only IMO. My one complaint? I called on a Monday to book a table for Saturday night for 4ppl. I was told that they were all booked between 6 and 8:30. Hmmmm, weird. I was there last Saturday for dinner too and the place was half full. Most other potential diners would go looking for a table elsewhere (and miss out on tasty goodness), but I asked "what % of your tables do you reserve?" Wait for it folks.... "About a third". Yikes! Seriously? You are that confident that you'll fill the place that you turn down reservations from someone calling a week in advance? Weird. When I managed restaurants (10 yrs before and during college and graduate school), I took any reservation I could get, knowing that a few would no-show. Those who walk in would just have to wait. That would allow me to schedule the right amount of staff, buy enough food, etc. To me, this is a bizarre practice, but its not my place, its theirs. The host should, however, let the caller know that there is likely to be adequate seating, following a reasonable wait. Okay, done w my rant. All that said, one of my new favorite places to dine here in STL.

Several colleagues and I met at Cooper's Hawk for a glass of wine and some dinner. For a ridiculously reasonable price (at least from a New Yorker's point of view), Cooper's Hawk offered a sampling of 8 wines (in small enough glasses so you could actually taste 8 and still walk and talk to work colleagues). For the price of a glass of wine in New York, I sampled 8 "lux" wines and received a high-end chocolate truffle! A group of about 10 sat for dinner and enjoyed a sampling of appetizers (all very good), and dangerously addictive pretzel-flavor dinner rolls. For dinner I had a pistachio-crusted grouper. I'd had several business dinners in St Louis and almost always order fish - and this was the first that was light, flavorful, and not dripping in butter. My only complaint was that the service was very slow, even for bringing the bread to the table. Hopefully that was a one-time accident and not their way of doing business. I'd definitely go back to the restaurant (and I'd be tempted to order the same thing!)

Whoa!! What a pleasant surprise! Went here with my sister for a quick lunch while her car was being worked on. Yumo! The inside is very cute with that rustic winery feel. They sell their own line of pasta and other foods that pair well with wine. They also have large tasting bar. We skipped on that today. We ordered a light lunch of the tuna tacos and the chopped Mediterranean salad. I can't decide if I liked the tacos or the salad better, both were soooooooo good. The tacos came in a crispy shell and the tuna was cooked perfectly, rare, imo. They were on a bed of the best crispy coleslaw. It had an amazing fresh tart flavor. And not over dressed. Perfect. The chopped Mediterranean salad was also perfectly dressed. And all the good things in it came together in one delish bite. Love that they use fresh goats milk cheese instead of the traditional feta. And they happily split the salad for us no charge. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The pretzel bread was soft and yummy. I don't normally eat out in the county but I would be happy to come back here for dinner or even a wine tasting.

Had an enjoyable time at Cooper's Hawk restaurant yesterday. Food was excellent, service was good. Wine was pretty good. Wine is paired with your food order for maximum taste experience. Can't understand the negative Yelps about this place. I'll be going back.

Had Dinner here with my wife and they outdone themselves again. Great food!! We had the Blackened Ahi Tuna as an appetizer and it was very fresh. My wife had the Chicken Linguini Reggiano and I had the Anne's Chicken Saltimbocca. I can only say that mine was excellent and the chicken was very tender, and my wife enjoyed her pasta also. We both needed to bring food home. You definitely need to make reservations since they get pretty booked up quickly. Unless you don't mind waiting and as the name of this establishment implies you can taste and sample their wines. Our waiter Nicholas was very attentive.

Absolutely outstanding experience! 1st visit yesterday. Loved the layout and the atmosphere. My close friend and I visited for her Birthday. We started with the Lux Wine tasting and while I'm not a huge fan of reds, I still enjoyed them as much as the whites. My favorite wine, the Riesling! We enjoyed lunch here. We both started with the Crab & Lobster Bisque. The soup was filled with chunks of crab and lobster meat! By far the chunkiest I've had; very good flavor. My friend had the Pistachio-Crusted Grouper and I had the Fish and Chips. The herb tarter that was served with the fish, in my opinion, enhanced the flavor. We both enjoyed our dishes. Sooo many desserts to choose from, so we each ordered something different so we could try and have a mini tasting. I ordered the Banoffee Pie (Banana Toffee Pie) and she ordered the Chocolate Pretzel Bread Pudding. We liked them both, but the bread pudding was very heavy, the Banoffee pie was our fav in this visit. From the tasting, hostess and waitress, all of the service was awesome! My friend went ahead and signed up for the wine club, I'm gonna decide by my next visit...and there will be many!

I was expecting suburban mediocrity and was absolutely stunned by outstanding service and superior food. We got into a really interesting conversation with about 7 members of the staff at the reception area when we were told their gorgeous patio is COMPLETELY NONSMOKING! Oh Cooper's Hawk - you had me at HELLO! We did indeed dine on their all smoke-free patio and what gorgeous grounds they have for this setting. Christin (spelling) was our charming server and she seriously felt like a lifelong friend by the end of our 4 hour visit to CHW. We did not wait for anything while dining there and her wine recommendations were spot on. To say their wines are EXTRAORDINARY does not do them justice. If you enjoy wine and wine culture - get ye to CHW pronto! I realize I've likely been sucking on Two Buck Chuck for too long but trust me - I still know superior wines when I taste them! And their wine club makes drinking here practically a bargain! I had the lobster bisque which was nothing special to be honest. It was too chunky too be bisque and frankly I'm spoiled by Gitto's bisque so I probably shouldn't even try to enjoy it elsewhere. But then I had the crispy fried fish and it was delicious - perfectly fried with tender, delicious sweet fish on the interior of the perfect crust. We had the banana bread ice cream sandwich and it was OK - probably wouldn't get it again but I'm picky about my sweets. Next time I will go for the dark chocolate martini instead! And there will be a next time! Oh how I love you CHW! It really is the service and attention to details that sets this place above everything else in Chesterfield. If you want to feel like a queen for a day - definitely go to Cooper's Hawk Winery. And enjoy a stroll on their lovely walkway complete with swans you can feed after dinner. It is the perfect setting for romance....

First time was Saturday night and the food and wine and service was "to die for". They have a section in the back of the menu called the light balance, basically;, a lot of the same entrees but lighter version. I believe most items in the menu suggests a particular wine that pairs well with the entree. My friend had scallops that were SPECTACULAR...and I had the Turkey Burger(best I've ever had)...the fresh bread is warm pretzel bread...and we both had the house wine(great too)..My plate came with a small salad and 2 skewer of fresh fruit our two entrees were from the "light balance menu-near the back" and the food was delicious and lists the calories. They offer samples of their wines at dinner/lunch too. There is also outside seating but it was too hot for that, but will be back again soon.

The wait for this restaurant was incredibly ridiculous. I'm talking over 2 hours. That means we spent a good chunk of time doing a wine tasting, which was definitely fun! When our table was FINALLY ready, we all inhaled the pretzel rolls, which were really good (I'm sure they would be good even if I wasn't super starving). I ordered a risotto dish (can't remember which one), and it was amazing! Dessert was great too. Lesson learned - the food is good, maybe not worth a 2 hour wait, so make reservations FAR in advance!

Been here a few times for appetizers and a glass of wine. It is convenient cause it is right next to Whole Foods. All the apps are pretty good. Try the pretzel bread but make sure they bring it out hot!

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. First the good...the food was outstanding! We both ordered steaks and they were cooked perfectly. Side dishes all were wonderful. We also ordered a ceaser salad which was so good. It was huge! The two of us shared it and there was more than enough. I'm not a huge wine fan, so I ordered a sangria...best drink I've had in a very long time. We also tried the chocolate cake for dessert and it was delicious. The service was adequate...definitely not good, but she brought our food and kept our water mostly refilled. We were disappointed that no one acknowledged our anniversary...when I made the reservations, I noted this on the reservation. No mention of anything. Someday we'll probably go back for the food, but we'll probably just do a lunch. We were hoping to have a special night out where we were made to feel special on our anniversary. That didn't happen, but at least we enjoyed our meal, even if it wasn't a memorable evening out.

Expectations Exceeded. Really thought this place was not going to be very good but was pleasantly surprised. Yes the wine is just fair, but what do you really expect-- virtually every bottle is less that $25. So set your wine snobbery aside and enjoy some decent wine at a great value; and some really great food. The short ribs were absolutely excellent. and the banana ice cream sandwich was one of the best deserts I've had in months. So if you can bring yourself to venture west of 270 this is a great choice.

My girlfriend and myself have both been members prior to the STL location opening. We had high hopes. Since opening we have been in for dinner quite a few times and enjoyed it. The food was good for the cost. Decided to attend a members dinner this month and bring a couple friends. The dinner was actually pretty nice. The only part that we all disliked was the events mgr would not quit talking. Soon as u started eating she wanted to run her mouth. So irritating .Toward the end of dinner we asked to get a bottle of wine from our account and were told dinner would be ending soon and we could not. The GM was at the dinner and came over we explained what happened assuming he would apologize and make it right. He explained that's the way it is , u can go to the bar and drink. We eat out 4 nights a week and have never come across a worse managed place. The guy was so rude and could care less. We went out to the wine bar . Picked up the 18 bottles we had on our accounts. No longer members there. Very disappointing

This place is one of the nicer restaurants in this area. It's decorated just as beautiful inside as out, and I would dress nice to come here. My family and I came here and had a good experience. Our waitress was superb- even gave us free cake pops for the kids. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger and the kid mac n cheese was to die for. However my chicken Parmesan sandwich was just ok. When I asked a waitress I was passing by where the bathroom was, I simply got "in the corner". She didn't point a certain way or anything and it came off rude. I would come back for the atmosphere.

The atmosphere was awesome, the food was amazing, but the service was SO terrible that I can't rate Cooper's hawk higher than 1 star. It took forever to be greeted, and longer to order our food bc she was too busy explaining wine club to the table next to us - which she didn't even mention to our table. We got our appetizer and 45 minutes later still didn't receive our entrees bc she even admitted she "got caught up in her other table" and didn't ring them in. The manager took care of the check, who was amazing, and to make matters even worse - our server came by one last to tell us how nice that was that the manager did that. WHAT?! Maybe an extra apology for her lack of attention would have been more of an appropriate thing to say. Unbelievable.

Food-ok, wine-eh, service-HORRIBLE. The bartender paid no attention to our wine tasting and poured wine on top of other wines. Servers were RUDE, absent and lacking sense and concern. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND GOOD MONEY ON A BAD NIGHT.

Was anxious to try this new restaurant-part of a small chain from the Chicago area. They produce their own wines and have extensive wine list. Tasting area in lobby but we were given generous samples of wine at our table. I tasted my husbands appetizer of Mexican Drunken shrimp (recommended by the waitress). Could have been a meal in itself. Appetizer house salad boring. Entree was Short Rib Risotto (again recommended). A strange combination but it totally worked together. Tasted the dessert Banana Caramel Ice Cream Ssndwich which was one of the best and unique desserts I have had. Service was very good-attentive and knowledgeable. Very diverse menu with a lighter fare section and "lunch size entrees". Bread is pretzel roll which was a fun and different option

  • Jimmie O.

Great atmosphere, clean, trendy, good service, but that's where it ends. Wine was extremely disappointing! For an establishment that suggests it has good wine, the sampling were a complete let down. To be fair, the martinis were excellent. Good selection of spirits, and generously mixed. This brings us to the food: beautiful menu / selection, but perpetration and freshness very weak. Fish tacos ( missing the fish) , bakes potato (so old I questioned if it came from Wendy's yesterday) , tortilla soup ( sickeningly rich and creamy - not in a good way). I can only reconnect the Mexican shrimp and pretzel bread from this dining experience, and of course a martini but at these prices your better off getting those things at a "bar". I hope they can whip the kitchen into shape, we loved the decor.

3.5 stars. Went here last night with my husband and another couple. I called 2 nights ahead of time to make a reservation. Was placed on hold for over 5 minutes, and finally called back and talked to someone, who was pleasant and took my reservation. Fast forward to Saturday night. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were all offered a taste of a wine, which I thought was a nice touch. I walk up to the hostess stand to let them know we had arrived, and our reservation was nowhere to be found (and I should note there was another person up there at the same time who was in the same situation, and I heard the hostesses talking about a third party with the same issue). Luckily for us, they were still able to find a table for us immediately. Our server came over to take drink orders and advised we could try any wines that we would like to before deciding on one to order. She did also warn that the bar was very busy. The guys ordered mixed drinks, and me and the other girl requested tastes of two different wines. It took a very long time for the drinks to arrive. In the meantime, the other couple ordered a couple of appetizers and I decided to order a cheese plate with the wine pairing (in retrospect, this was not my smartest move, given the server's comment about the bar being very busy). They brought my cheese plate out at the same time as the other appetizers, but we waited at LEAST 15 more minutes before the wine pairings arrived. Why on Earth would you serve the cheese without the wine it is meant to be paired with? Then our main courses arrived 2 minutes after the wine pairings did. So there went that. The food was excellent, we all really liked what we ordered. Our server (and really, everyone we encountered there) was friendly. I just think they have some things that they need to work out. I look forward to returning and hopefully being able to give them a higher Yelp rating at that time.

We had a great experience at Coopers Hawk. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the wine and food options. I like red wine and had a red wine flight option that included 4 red wine choices of 3 ounces a piece. The pretzel bread was excellent. The salad wedge was good with a tasty dressing. For an appetizer we had the mexican shrimp, shrimp wrapped in bacon on guacamole. This was good as well but a bit expensive,12 dollars for 5 small pieces. For the meal I had the crusted filet medallions with pistachio crusted grouper that came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. It was incredible. For dessert we split the chocolate cake, it was amazing also. There is a wine tasting area and you can buy any of their wines with a wine of the month club option. The restaurant is definitely a bit pricey but well worth it. I would certainly recommend this, especially the wine lovers out there.

I would say for a chain it has good food. Big menu and on a busy Saturday night service was better than some reviews lead me to expect. But my greatest complaint is the wine. Yes grapes are from west coast. But the wine all tastes similar. No great character, volume, strong notes or creativity. Really feel like they made wines for general uneducated wine drinkers. Too bad they could have had a double whammy here. Too many wines are sweet /fruit flavored. 7 bubbles and none are brut- you only have their wines to choose from. The sauv blanc and Pinot Gris and lux Chardonnay could have been from the same barrel. Too bad. Napoli Due or Bistro 1130 both next door are much better dining options with more unique wine pairings.

I've been here twice so far and will be going back. It's a little pricey, but the food is well worth it. For 4 of us this last time, the bill came to just over $250. To be fair, we ordered 2 appetizers (asian pork belly tostadas and the mexican drunken shrimp-highly recommend both), 2 wedge salads, 4 entrées (the chicken saltimbocca is incredible, as is their trio of steak medallions), 2 desserts (cheesecake and chocolate mousse-i would also recommend the creme brulee and the banoffee pie! Yum!), and several drinks. Quite a bit of food for that amount of money. We've made reservations both times we've gone and its been a smooth experience, no waiting. The first time we went, the server was excellent! Very attentive even at an extremely busy time, well-informed, and amiable. The second time, although she was very sweet and personable, it took a bit long to take our order, to get our drinks, and she wasn't very organized. So just a bit of inconsistency with the staff perhaps, but I'm there for the food anyway! Incredibly extensive menu, will have to go back just to try some new stuff. Anddd on a side note, their house red was pretty good...and I hate red wine.

My wife and I tried this place on Saturday night. Very nice experience. We used open table to make a reservation, got there a little early, and tasted some wines before seating. The wine was good. Servers were friendly, and very busy. Our food was a little slow, but it was a date night, so we weren't in a rush. The beef medallions were excellent. The grouper was very good. My wife really enjoyed her Mediterranean salad. I guess the only surprise was that it isn't as small and romantic as we thought. It has a big operation. Somehow I had the impression it was a small place. Overall highly recommend for date night or posting guests for dinner.

Date night location. We have never been to a Cooper's location, so this was new. Reservation was made online several days ago, but, despite a vastly empty dining room at 5 pm on a Friday night, we had to wait until a reservation card was printed and placed on our table. We still wonder what the point of that was. We were greeted by our server Cody, a pleasant young man. I began with a Caesar salad and Husband tried the blackened ahi appetizer. The salad contained minced leaves, a handful of croutons, grated Parmesan and sliced Parmesan layer on top. The dressing was light but the cheese was a little on the heavy side. Still, I would order it again. Ahi was nicely seasoned with an excellent drizzle. It was a good portion for the price. The ahi was served with fresh ginger but no wasabi or chopsticks. Reviewing the menu, Husband went with server recommended short rib risotto. As an anti-red meat patron, I wondered aloud if the chef could whip up a risotto without the steak included. Cody checked and apologized profusely that it couldn't be because there "wasn't a way to ring it up." As a risotto fan, I was disappointed. Seriously? You could make it but you won't sell it to me because there isn't a specific option in the system? How about: misc purchase, ala carte, or an appropriately priced alternative. The lack of flexibility was disappointing and not what I associate with a fine dining experience (hence 4/5 stars). I hope that perhaps CH managers will see this post and consider adding an ala carte option. Please also consider adding an risotto appetizer or ala carte option. My main course was the soy-glazed salmon with wasabi potatoes and Asian slaw. Husband had braised short rib risotto. The salmon was truly delicious with a great sear! The glaze had caramelized into a tangy, crispy coating that set the taste buds to bursting. The ice cream scoop's worth of buttered wasabi potatoes was a nice compliment to the salmon. Although the heat was absent, the wasabi flavor was present. The Asian slaw's flavor was reminiscent of the oriental ramen noodle salad many find at potlucks, but the slaw texture was light and thin composed of shredded cabbage and carrots and topped with crispy fried wontons. The helping was very generous; twice as much as the potatoes. I found myself wishing I had a little more potato and a little less slaw. Husband's short ribs were super tender and the risotto complemented it well. We concluded dinner with a slice of chocolate ganache cake, which is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Husband and I split the multi-layer cake decorated with a fat dollop of whipped cream and still ended up with half to take home with us. We will definitely go back; CH's salmon beat J Gilbert's maple-plank salmon, which had been my go-to favorite entree in StL county. Husband liked the ahi and recommends the entree version. The experience wasn't perfect, but food was good, nice atmosphere, and plenty of choices for wine drinkers. Glad to have CH as a West Co option!

This restaurant appears to have management issues. My husband and I dined there for the first time yesterday. We were greeted by staff who were friendly and seated promptly. Once at our table, we had a long wait before our waitress arrived. Once she arrived to our table, another couple demanded that she come to their table first so she abruptly left our table to take care of them. This was pretty awful - I don't blame her, the other customers were extremely adamant that she immediately attend to them and didn't seem to care that she was with another table. Our drink orders were placed and it took a long while to receive them. It was several more minutes before we placed our appetizer order and the waitress did not take our meal order at that time, which struck me as odd. Our meal order would not be taken until several minutes AFTER our appetizer was brought to us and we had completely finished it. We had to ask repeatedly for refills of our beverages and still were only able to receive one refill each (so at least two requests went unfulfilled). As a result of being taken post-appetizer, our meal order did not go in for quite some time, thus prolonging our wait for dinner. The appetizer we ordered, the Mexican drunken shrimp, had a fantastic sauce but on two pieces of shrimp, the bacon was undercooked and slimy, posing a health risk, particularly to me since I am 9 months pregnant. Not wanting to harm my unborn child, I did not partake, which given the cost of the meal, was rather annoying. The entrees, when they finally arrived, were quite good (crab cakes and sea scallops). However, the amount of time that lapsed between each stage of service was rather insane. There did not appear to be enough people staffed to handle the outdoor seating area. Our waitress was kind and I do not blame her for what is likely a product of poor management at this location -- she appeared to be moving as quickly as possible to service most of the outdoor tables. For the overall price of a meal here, one would want the service to be impeccable, along with the food quality. I'm not sure we'll be back, which is a shame, because good dining options are somewhat limited in Town & Country.

Ordered a wine and cheese flight for two. Apparently you are supposed to share the wine glasses. And wait 10 minutes for the wine after the cheese shows up. Braised short ribs should not be hard gray chunks of dry meat. Other than that....

Went here for lunch on a Sunday, after a playdate at Myseum, which is across the street--went at 1pm, and the place was largely empty. The good: (1) Kid-friendly, though given the price-point of the place, I would not take my 4 year old there other than for lunch. Typical paper kid's menu with crayons, plastic cup, etc. The chicken tenders and fries looked and tasted like that from any chain (Red Robin came immediately to mind) but given the pickiness of my daughter, that was fine; (2) Husband raved over his steak medallions and veggies from the "fit menu"; (3) the juicy chocolate covered strawberry for dessert (included with my daughter's meal; $3 each otherwise); (4) the included pretzel bread with butter was yummy; and (5) service was attentive and friendly. The bad: (1) Red-wine braised short ribs--while they were properly cooked, they were served swimming in what was seriously just a half inch of grease/ fat--it was as if someone skimmed the fat off the cooking liquid, but then served the wrong container! They also had no discernable red wine flavor. The potatos were greasy, being soaked in the fat, and tasted more like boiled potatoes, rather the rich taste/ texture I expected from the cream and butter description. They also had a ratio of almost half peel to potato (red and russet, I think); (2) the price-point. $80 (included tip, one extra strawberry, and no wine) was insane for lunch and the amount of food provided. There were a few cheaper lunch options on the menu, but minimal choices and not that varied; (3) the ambiance was odd--space itself was pretty, but the tables and chairs could be plucked from any chain restaraunt. Bottom line--if you want a more upscale dining experience that is kid friendly, try this place out. The wine tasting bar in the front looked like it could be fun too. For us, we're not in Town & Country very often, and I can't imagine making this place a priority when we are.

Based on the reviews we saw in Yelp, we cautiously went to Cooper's Hawk last night to celebrate members of our family coming in town. It looks like things started strong with lots of great reviews and comments. . . lately, not so much. Our disappointment is focused on 3 areas: 1) We were sitting in a half-full main dining room at an 10top nearest the large windows overlooking the outdoor patio. We arrived at 730p and the 'cool' front had already come through so, it was mid-70s and not humid outside, but inside...whoooa a different story. Someone has GOT to fix the air flow or air conditioning in that area...it was oppressive! We asked the waitress twice and the manager to make it cooler or something. . . they said they did but nothing changed. It was not enjoyable at all. As I walked around the rest of the area, it was somewhat more bearable but still very inconsistent. Talk to your HVAC people. 2) The service was...blech. I get that dealing with a 10top isn't the easiest and our waitress was good at keeping things organized but why did it take 22 minutes to take our drink order, another 17 minutes to get the drinks (4 were wine pours, only 2 were mixed drinks, the others were water), then another 18 minutes to take our dinner order and then another 34 minutes for the food to come out? And seriously, you don't write down seat numbers so you know where the wedge salad should go versus the flat bread pizza? I'd attribute some of the slowness to the kitchen, but the time lag was not welcomed - especially sitting in that sauna. And, what about the manager? Ever think to come by? 3) The food (at least mine) was greasy, overcooked almost to being burnt, dried out and the taste was terribly flat. I had a carne asada flatbread with pesto (double blech) and something that looked like cheese but was a runny mess of who knows what. To be fair, there were others who had some great BBQ and the salads looked fresh and well dressed. But, another of our party was similarly disappointed in her dish which looked like some brown mess of a stew. I will give CHW another shot because it's unfair to rule out a restaurant on a single experience. . . if things are better, I'll of course update this review. For my money (and someone else mentioned $100 for a 2top), it was not worth the expense. With tip and drinks (for my wife and me) the bill was $92. Based on our experience, we received none of that in value.

Great food and service! Ask for Aaron as your server and Amy at the wine tasting. The Burgers are good and the kids meals our also great. Call ahead they take reservations. Most times even if they say they are booked you can get in. Also they have some unique gifts in the shop. Only negative is the beer selection not any IPAs and only one pale ale???

One of my favorite restaurants in the St. Louis area, totally worth the long drive out to Town & Country. The (complimentary!) pretzel bread is to die for, and they have great happy hour specials ($5 glasses of delicious wine). The Caesar salad is amazing, as is the prime rib French dip. The menu is huge, there are still a ton of other things I want to try. Can't wait to go back.

I am a regular guests at the Cooper's Hawks in the Chicago area but I must say, I have yet to have as great of experience as I had here! We were in on a Saturday night about 6 o clock. I must say I've always thought the idea of a winery as a chain brand or franchise would deteriorate in a "wanna be" winery. The food was fantastic as I have come to expect. We ordered the Mexican Drunken Shrimp which is now my new favorite, since they ruined the calamari app by making it rather boring and cliche. I must admit it is the level of service that continues to keep me coming back and this visit was no different! My server, Alex was unbelievably intelligent, knowledgeable and professional He helped create a full experience for us by being sure we were situated with the exact glass & bottle of wine to match our personal preference was astonishing. Kudos to you Alex and thank you for all your hard work. I know you were working about 5 other tables. Coming from a service background I understand how difficult it can be to give the level of service you gave us when handling large amounts of tables but you handled wit with grace and speed! Thank you and I'll be back!

I come here a lot. It's a classy restaurant although you can dress casual, you don't have to dress up. The staff is friendly, attentive, courteous, respectful....as a matter of fact they are one of the biggest reasons why I eat here. (Vazhin, Aaron, Lance, Nicole are great Servers). The food is fresh, tasty and totally worth indulging. Some of my favorites are Mexican Shrimp, Betty's Potatoes, Steak medallions, Chicken potstickers and Banana sandwich dessert are my favorites! If you have not been here, definitely check it out!

Great upscale casual dining. Yes you can wear jeans :) good for a group dinner. Open seating in the bar. We had a very good dinner. I had the ahi tuna and he had the steak which was a bit over-seasoned. Note- the "appetizer salads" are HUGE suggest splitting with another person or as a sat and alone meal. The service was wonderful we had Alyssa. She suggested a great wine of the month! The wine tasting area is spacious and has an amazing gift selection for all your wine needs. Downsides: The wine decanter is unique but somewhat big & bulky if you are at a small table. Also it can get a bit loud in the dining area due to the open floor plan but it's not as noisy as a sports bar. Overall Not the best restaurant in St. Louis but you will definitely not be disappointed. Highly recommend!

I wanted to like Cooper's Hawk, I really did. And I think with different management, they can be a lot better because the fixes are fairly easy. They need to figure out if they are a traditional 45-90 minute restaurant or if they are a "dining experience". Because Sidney Street they were not, and I believe that's what they want to be. What went wrong: 1. The tables were packed in way too close and it was way too loud. Because of the large tasting area in the front, I think the fire code gives them a liberal amount of people who can occupy the building. Unfortunately, they took advantage of that in my opinion and it grossly subtracted points with us. 2. Forty minutes to get our drinks. I understand we sampled some wine before ordering, but it was twenty minutes before they even asked what we wanted to sample. 3. Two and a half hours before our entrees were served (only ordered appetizers and the main). You read that right folks --- 2 1/2 hours! They treated the complimentary bread as 1 course which came out an hour after we sat down. Then after a lengthy wait, the course 2 appetizers came. Then after another lengthy wait, the 3rd soup came. Finally, after another long wait, the main course. This could have been streamlined so much better and quicker. We didn't even know the bread was coming - it should have came out immediately after drinks (which should have came out in a fraction of time it took). 1/2 of us ordered soup and the other half ordered appetizers. Clearly everything should have came out at the same due the circumstances of our party; it's not like everyone ordered appetizers and everyone ordered soup which would have warrented 2 different course timings. I was very aggravated and would have left had I not been with other people. 4. the food quality was hit or miss. My food was excellant (veggie flatbread and cod dinner) but others steak and shrimp were overcooked. At it's price range, the food really needs to come out perfect every time. What was good? 1. The wine was actually better than I expected for a chain type winery. 2. The building itself was quite nice inside 3. My food was really good at least Would I return? No, not until I'm satisfied these problems would not occur again.

Great lunch. Excellent service I chose the shrimp/lobster bisque and an appetizer of seared tuna tacos. The bisque was not the smooth creamy bisque that I was accustomed to. It had chunks of seafood shrimp etc. The taste was (3/5) . The tuna tacos on the other hand were delectable. Five tacos. Tuna just seared on the outside and a mild wasabi sauce on the side. (5/5) since I had to return to work I couldn't tap into the wine cellar. Hopefully, to rectify this on my next visit.

I hate to give such an amazing place such low stars. I've been to several locations, Indianapolis and Columbus are the two locations I first visited. They really set my future expectations of the place. I was so excited to discover the one in St Louis. I had my birthday celebration here. I had talked this place up and let my guests know what to expect. The service was terrible. They didn't cover any of the information any other location covers to my 9 guests that had never been there before. I agree with other comments that the hostess are not good either. Our server wasn't attentive, we often had to ask for the same things over and over and on the third time we would finally get it. Did I mention this was a Tuesday night? I can't imagine it on a weekend. Thank god the food was good otherwise I would have been totally embarrassed. If you want good food definitely go here but expect sub par service. No one seems to enjoy working there. :(

In the interest of combatting "grade inflation," I give Cooper's Hawk a good, solid, respectable 3, to reflect the definition of "A-OK." A group of 4 went to Cooper's Hawk for a Sunday dinner on the MLK weekend. The place was busy, so reservations seem to be a must. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, in a sleek, warm-modern way. There are plenty of tables, and we saw many large groups. The place is noisy---like so many restaurants, so keep that in mind if that's a concern for you. I probably would only take my parents here for lunch or an early dinner. The server was friendly and competent. When taking our drink order, she asked if we had sampled any wines in the front of the restaurant. What? How did we miss that? Was it a fail on our part? We certainly weren't directed as such. Still, she brought some tastes to us at the table, which did help us order. I don't think I would have selected the sauvignon blanc gewurtztraminer, the wine of the month, had I not been given the opportunity to taste it. (On a side note, we were told that we could purchase the wine of the month by the bottle, IF we were members of their wine club. I sorta felt like I was getting the time share schpiel.) The food was nice---I thoroughly enjoyed the pistachio encrusted grouper but the mashed potato side was just wayyyyy too rich. They didn't complement the fish at all. And, while I enjoyed my chopped pesto caesar salad, others at the table did not like the chopped presentation. My husband raved about his spicy pasta. Friends loved their short rib risotto and banana bread ice cream sandwich. So, why the three stars? Well, there are just so many good restaurants around, and I think I'd rather go to Prasino in St. Charles or Edgewild in Chesterfield. That said, I'll likely give this spot another chance, perhaps for lunch.

This was a very nice stop on a Saturday out with a girlfriend around Christmas time. When you first walk in, there is a Tasting Bar where you have the option to do a sampling of 8 different wines. The fee for a tasting was minimal and the pours were generous. If there was a wine on the list you didn't like, they were happy to let you switch out for something else. I will say that I could have done without the pitch for the Wine Club. While I understand the business model, I would have preferred not to be put on the spot after my tasting. Over on the restaurant side, there are some nice views if you sit my the window to see the fountain in front of the building. The menu has a TON of options for any type of eater. I appreciated that they had options listed for various dietary restrictions. I had the Pesto Caesar salad - which was delish, and a flatbread pizza. Both were nice portions and decent priced. This was a nice little escape to somewhere that felt like an upscale winery, without the drive. This is a must-try for anyone in the area and would be excellent for a date night or girls night out.

Delicious! I had the gnocchi with roasted butternut squash and it was one of the best entrees I've had in any restaurant. Paired it with Cooper's Hawk White, which was great as well. Definitely sweet, but not overpowering. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because our reservation was for 7:30 and we were not seated until 8:05.

My sister loves this place so this was our first stop after landing. I was totally expecting HOT and muggy. The patio was perfect for the beautiful weather. Our server was a sweetheart. She recommended a local beer which was delicious...just the right amount of hoppiness and citrus. We started with the pretzel bread. Chewy on the outside and soft and delicious in the center. Yum! I had the Pork Belly tostadas. The serving size was large...enough for my meal. The salty smokey pork belly was a perfect match with the cilantro and chili sauce. I tasted something very fresh like ginger. Served on a crunchy tostada, they were delicious! Their happy hour looks like fun. I am sure I will be back before the trip is over!

Bad. This is the epitome of a crummy chain restaurant with overpriced junk on the menu. The fact that there are crowds here continues to absolutely mystify me. The menu is weak and the execution is worse - there is no depth or soul to this food. More importantly, there is no flavor. It doesn't fall to a 1 star, but I really urge you to go elsewhere.

I've been here twice now and overall I am very underwhelmed. This first time I came for a late lunch with a friend on Christmas Eve. The place was nearly empty at the time so we received impeccable service by the staff. I think we had at least 5 different waiters come by the table to see if we needed anything. The place was also newly opened at that point so not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. We decided to split the appetizer sampler which ran about $20. The food was ok but I definitely was not impressed with any of it especially at that price. The wine was good though and the prices were decent there compared to any other restaurant. Came back again for dinner with another friend a few weeks ago on a Monday night. The restaurant wasn't that crowded yet this time service was so unbelievably slow. It took our waitress about almost 5 minutes just to say hello before she ran off again. She was very nice and even let us have more than the two "allowed" tastings of wine to figure out exactly what we wanted but it was just a lot of waiting. Luckily we were catching up and having a good time and weren't in a rush but it was still annoying. We split the mexican shrimp appetizer which was good but super overpriced. We each also got a bowl of the lobster bisque which was chunky in a bad way. I couldn't really taste the lobster or crab and most of the chunks seemed to be crunchy undercooked vegetables. I was very disappointed especially after reading all the great reviews about it on here. For dinner we split the maple pretzel encrusted pork. The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy but nothing special. It came with only 4 stalks of asparagus and the meat was a tad overcooked and just medicore. Again for the price, very underwhelmed. On both of my visits here I did do the wine tasting which was definitely the highlight of my experience here. If I ever do come back it will only be for this and never to eat again. The tasting includes 8 wines and if there is something on the menu you don't like you can switch it out for another wine. Both times the employee pouring the tasting was very friendly and informative. On my second visit we even got a free chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick which was delicious. Overall it was an ok experience but not worth the price in the slightest. For that kind of money you would be way better off going to Napoli 2 which is in the same plaza. The food there is absolutely fantastic and so is the staff. But if you want to try some decent wines (don't expect anything spectacular here) then its not a bad time.

We really enjoyed our visit here on a Saturday night. We opted to sit in the bar area for a livelier atmosphere. The decor and building is beautiful, perfect for an upscale casual meal. We had some flatbread pizzas and a wonderful chopped salad. The portion sizes were generous and the wine was good as well. Our waiter wasn't the friendliest person and seemed agitated by any requests made, but he could have had a bad night. Overall a very nice restaurant that I would love to visit again for a romantic meal or with friends to watch the game in the bar. I think it will be a great addition to the area.

Very enjoyable! Great atmosphere and great food. We had the salmon, filet medallions and crab cakes. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The wine selections were plentiful and they offer tastings for any wine you are interested in trying.

A few weeks ago my parents were in town and wanted to go have a nice dinner with my family of four. We called up to Cooper's Hawk and asked if there was availability. We were told sure no problems, come on up. We live about 2 min away so we rushed up there. We walked in and explained that we had just called and were told a table would be available for us. The hostesses said there were no tables available and they didn't know why someone would have told us we would have one. Needless to say, we were upset that we were given false information over the phone (presumably by the same hostesses that we spoke to in person) and have no plans to return.

My husband and I were totally impressed with both the food and the dining experience at Cooper's Hawk on New Year's Eve. It all began and ended with our awesome server Sara. She was friendly without being pushy, very patient with answering questions on a high-volume night, and very knowledgeable. Our bottle of Riesling was delicious and reasonably priced. My special of two Parmesan-crusted steak medallions and a lobster tail was excellent and my husband really liked his steak. Even with the wine, an appetizer, and two desserts, our bill was around $100-not bad at all for New Year's Eve. The menu has a variety of lower-priced entrees, flatbreads, salads, and burgers, so you could eat there pretty reasonably. I am really looking forward to going back for a wine tasting soon.

I love Cooper's Hawk! I had the most amazing chicken piccata and the sparkling wine flight. The service is always impeccable. I've done the wine tasting twice and both times it was excellent. I really recommend having a cheesecake pop...cheesecake on a stick dipped in chocolate. It is a delicious end to a meal. The atmosphere is very inviting and on the more sophisticated side. They also have a small area for shopping in the front of the restaurant.

Sit on the patio. Even if you have to wait. Have the southern hooch, even if you giggle at your cutie waitress when you say it. Skip the crab cakes because they are fishy. Yuk. But don't you dare miss the lettuce wraps or the blue and onion straw burger. Great atmosphere despite being on busy Clayton rd.

Their food and wine are awesome. They're a little pricey, but the food is worth it. I had the pork medallions with a mustard, maple and pretzel mixture on top. They were divine along with their potatoes, which melt in your mouth the staff is very knowledgable. It's overall a nice place to go for a special occasion.

We came here a couple times for wine tasting and dinner. The value of the wine tasting (lux) was terrific. We all sat down at the dinner table with a nice buzz. The food was pretty good, but certainly not 5 star quality. The customer service was superb.

Went to Cooper's Hawk for a friend's birthday dinner last night in the party room. Another friend's husband had called ahead wanting to buy a round of drinks for the table and was treated very rudely by Nadia, the party planner, so we were somewhat hesitant to see what type of treatment we would receive upon arrival. After an angry glance from the hostess we didn't have a great feeling. Overall, the food was very good, but unfortunately it could not make up for the so-so service and horrible treatment from Nadia, the party planner. Several of the ladies at the table ordered wine after the initial drink order and then waited and waited and waited for it to be delivered. A few had to remind the waiters to bring their drinks. The gentlemen taking care of us were very polite, but everything seemed to take forever. Food was not delivered together and the soups & salads that we ordered came out in strange intervals with a house salad (arguably the easiest of the bunch) taking a full 5-7 minutes longer to get to the table than the rest of the soups/salads. Entrees were delicious and everyone raved about their food. Then it was time for the bills to arrive and here is where the night took a complete nose-dive. Nadia came in to inform the birthday girl that we had not met the set $ quota for the room. She did so in front of the entire table and it was extremely unprofessional and rude. Several of the guests had canceled at the last minute, leaving the party at 13, rather than 18 as planned. Nadia explained that my friend would need to pay the difference between the required amount and what we had spent as a group. She suggested that my friend order some wine to make up the difference since she could take it home and then not be simply throwing her money away on a room rental. We were told she could not buy gift certificates to make up the difference, which seemed odd, but Nadia was very clear to point out that these specifications were in the contract my friend signed. She mentioned the contract a lot over the next 20-30 minutes. At no point was Nadia polite, apologetic, or helpful and she got the total of our food bill wrong on at least 4 occasions, which was troubling since she was the one telling my friend how much she had to spend to meet the room requirement. Another friend went out to ask a question about buying a few bottles of wine herself and noticed the price differences between buying in the restaurant versus in the retail area. She asked if my friend could be charged the retail price, since the restaurant would not be corking each bottle of wine (they charged around $8.50 per bottle extra on the bill for a "corking fee") and Nadia said no and then physically shoved the sales contract into my friend's face asking her to "read it and then talk to her if she had any other questions." Cooper's Hawk is requiring people to spend at least $900 to be in that party room and that is the kind of treatment the guests are given. Not even borderline rude, but openly hostile. At no point was anyone in our party impolite to any of the staff and the waiters were tipped well. From Nadia we were just trying to get accurate answers as to how much my friend still owed, what she could spend the balance on, and how it needed to be charged. Knowing that a lot of people had canceled Nadia never suggested that we take the party into the main room (that had open tables) or made any mention of needing to meet a requirement at the top of the meal (which would have been helpful for everyone to know with a smaller party) or did/said anything helpful at all. I honestly have never seen someone in customer service be so bad at their job and I would never go back to this restaurant, no matter how good the food was, because I cannot get over treating a paying customer so poorly, on their birthday no less.

We waited for almost half an hour (and were told it would take 10 minutes. everyone else had been seated). After being seated, we waited for 15 minutes without anyone coming over. I finally had to flag down a lady with an earpiece to ask for water and bread. We were told our server would be with us shortly, but we saw him only once, when he brought us the checks. The food was really good, but there is no way that I can recommend this place after the terrible service. I cannot give this place anything higher than 2 stars (and that's being generous).

Had an enjoyable time at Cooper's Hawk restaurant yesterday. Food was excellent, service was good. Wine was pretty good. Wine is paired with your food order for maximum taste experience. Can't understand the negative Yelps about this place. I'll be going back.

Beautiful decor, with a lovely wine tasting for just 8 dollars. On the gluten free menu, which has a lot of options, i had some incredible thai lettuce wraps. the wine aerators they use are totally fun and unique.

Enjoy...

Came here for our 4 year anniversary and loved it. This place was awesome. Amazing food, great wine! Service was great. We stopped at the bar for a glass of Champaign before we left and it was on the house when the bartender found out why we were there. Sweet!

Great food and fine. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Was going to a location near Chicago for years. Loved the place. Went for the first time to the St. Louis location. Just as good. It was a bit noisy though. A bit hard maintaining a conversation.
